This year, we found joy—joy in connection, creativity and every moment that brought our community together. Because joy is what happens when people feel seen, supported and celebrated exactly as they are—and that’s what we do at AutismOklahoma.
Our AutismOklahoma Walk brought together 348 teams, the most we’ve ever had! That’s hundreds of Oklahomans walking for love, for hope and for one another; proving our community, and the joy we share, is growing. We also saw joy out on the green at Drive Fore Autism, where teams rallied together in friendly competition and every swing helped make a difference.
Our filmmakers at Invisible Layers Productions broke new ground with a four-day workshop at Oklahoma City Community College—working on a real sound stage, guided by mentors and creating the original short film Pour Judgment. The experience was so inspiring that two of our filmmakers are now attending OCCC to chase their dreams even further. Talk about joy!
We also saw joy bloom in our social programs like Teen2Teen and Mix & Mingle, which were so successful that we expanded them to Tulsa. Teens and young adults showed up, ready to connect, ready to belong.
We were thrilled to bring back LEGO Camp, where smiles stacked as high as the creations our kids built together. Joy could be found everywhere—in our Duets Art Program, Green Tea Party, Summer Splash and seasonal celebrations.
We even shared knowledge and vital information through educational seminars helping families feel prepared, supported and connected.
Every program, every event, every friendship, it all adds up to something bigger than any one of us. Together, we found joy. And together, we’ll keep creating it—one connection, one smile, one moment at a time.
