Our film program, Invisible Layers Productions (ILP), touches every video we produce at AO. From brainstorming to script-writing, acting to directing, filming to lighting—our team of filmmakers on the spectrum do it all!
As our filmmakers dream bigger, they need higher-quality equipment to bring those visions to life—that’s why we’re so thankful to Kirschner Trusts, whose generous investment allowed us to upgrade our lights purchase the equipment to run them safely.
After weeks of anticipation, our team got to open the sealed boxes with the new lights inside: two Aputure LS 600c Pro II’s, the highest quality lights the program has ever owned. Immediately, the energy shifted from an education-environment to Christmas morning. The team carefully assembled the new equipment, their excitement growing by the second. Once the lights were set up, the filmmakers lowered the overhead lights and counted down. “Three… two… one!”
“Ooo’s and ahh’s” erupted as the studio lights illuminated the wall. The filmmakers explored every capability the new lights had to offer. In a moment’s notice, there were simulations of fireworks, police cars, candlelight, television static, explosions, lightning and so much more. The team was captivated by each discovery—excitedly sharing ideas of who they might utilize the effect in upcoming videos. The playful energy was so potent, that an impromptu game broke out and the filmmakers guessed which objects in the studio the lights were told to color match. Staff in nearby offices peeked out to see what all the commotion was about, eager to join in on the fun.
But the best part was the dreams of future projects running rampant.
