When AutismOklahoma (AO) was selected as a beneficiary charity for the 2026 Compliance Solutions Championship (CSC), our team headed to Tulsa to host a four-day putting challenge and connect with the community. The challenge drew golfers of all ages ready to test their skills and sink a hole-in-one.

One golfer who stepped up to the challenge was Deputy and Chelsea Public School Resource Officer Taylor Carter, who was on security detail for the event. Not only did Taylor manage to make a hole-in-one but he won the daily championship and took home fabulous prizes including a YETI Beverage Bucket, a portable speaker, a custom CSC hat and more. But Taylor was just getting started.

“[When] my coworkers saw what I had won, they said, well, if we pay for you, can you win us the same prizes?” Taylor recalled.

Taylor came back every day to compete on behalf of his coworkers and managed to win three out of the four daily championships, giving away his winnings with a smile on his face (even to other competitors).

“I actually have a nephew, and it’s not autism, it’s cerebral palsy, so I have a fondness for that. [In my role] at the school … I deal with a lot of kids with different health conditions or that have certain needs. And so I love that [through the putting challenge] we were able to give to something [that was] worth it.”

“Especially as law enforcement, I think that the more we can get out and connect with that part of the community, the more we’ll understand … because not every person’s the same, and if we just get there and we’re escalating the situation, we’re not really helping our community. So I think the more that we’re seen with the community and out there, that it’s a better environment for everybody around us.”

Creating positive change in a community takes more than the work of one person or one nonprofit, so we’re thankful to have met a Deputy in Rogers County who is doing his part to champion support and inclusion one putt at a time.

We can’t wait to see Deputy Taylor on the putting green at the CSC next year!

“Even if I’m not working [security detail], you can still bet your bottom dollar that I’m gonna be out there putting.”
