AutismOKC.org provides support for parents, grandparents, caregivers, and professionals who need assistance with children that are on the autism spectrum in the OKC metro area.  This group has been in existence for 20+ years and helps members get the support they need by giving them guidance in building a partnership with schools and community.

PARENT MEETING

We meet in the Promises room, on the 2nd floor of the church.

CHILD CARE

Child care is provided, but registration is required. Please contact Crystal Frost at crystal@autismoklahoma.org to register your children. Registration is required via email by the Monday before for the meeting.

MESSAGE BOARD

Anyone can sign up for our message board!  This is how many of our families communicate with each other and where we discuss chapter events. Additionally, this is also a great place to get advice from other families who are dealing with the same issues regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders. To sign up, just send an email to Susan Mitchell, message board moderator, at honeybees1008@yahoo.com.

SENSORY FRIENDLY Films

One Saturday per month, the AMC Theaters at Quail Springs and Crossroads Mall provide a “Sensory Friendly Film” just for our families.  The sound is lowered and the lights are raised for the comfort of the kids.  Movement and noise in the theater is perfectly fine!  The dates and times for the movies are announced via e-mail on our message board and Facebook page.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS

Our partnership with St. Luke’s special needs ministry, Samuel’s Call, allows us the ability to offer the following programs (see navigation panel).

  • Dance Therapy
  • Parent’s Day Out
  • Special Needs Sunday School Classes
