PieceWalk & 5K

The PieceWalk & 5K Inspires Oklahomans Affected by Autism

The PieceWalk & 5K is THE premier event of AutismOklahoma.org. The annual event occurs on the first Saturday in May and is the largest single event for autism in the state PieceWalk.org.

A Day of Togetherness

teamsThe heart of the PieceWalk is the teams. Teams are formed by friends, families, schools and organizations to express their support for someone who has autism. Many teams design their own t-shirt for a chance to win bragging rights in our T-Shirt Design Contest.

It is every parent’s dream that their child is accepted and supported to live successfully. To watch 8,000 participants walking and running to support individuals affected by autism, creates a vision for the future. Many parents report that the PieceWalk encourages them with a renewed hope that they are not alone.

As PieceWalk teams attract team members and raise funding, our community becomes more autism aware.  As stories of challenges and victories are told, more families, schools, businesses and communities are encouraged to become more involved and helpful to families.

The PieceWalk is an annual reminder to our friends, family, and community that we need each other to surround and support loved ones who have autism so they can shine and reach their full potential.

A Day of Fun

The PieceWalk provides a day of fun for everyone.  It is a “no-judgement” zone and a place where everyone is welcomed. Bounce houses, face painting, Disney and Star Wars characters, crafts, and even quiet spaces allow something for everyone.  Your family will always find something that they can enjoy!  And your family will feel safe, accepted and appreciated.

The 5K

5KThe 5K is a sanctioned and timed event. With registration of the 5K participants receive a shirt and a great swag bag while supplies last. Prizes for the overall first place male and first place female racers, with prizes to the first three finishers in each age group 17 and above. Racers 16 and below will receive a Dash medal.
