Volunteer Opportunities

Parent Support Group or Social Group Volunteers: Groups meet monthly and provide connection and resource opportunities to parents and family members. While the parents meet, most groups offer childcare &/or teen social groups for siblings and individuals on the autism spectrum. Our amazing volunteers make it possible for our families to  get support and acceptance, education sessions, dialogue with other families.

AutismCanadianValley: Meets in Yukon on the first Tuesday of each month. Volunteers needed from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Click HERE for details about AutismCanadianValley. This groups needs volunteers to:

  • Mentor for teen/adult social groups
  • Assist with Childcare

AutismEdmond: Meets in Edmond on the second Tuesday of each month. Volunteers needed from 6:00 p.m. – 8 p.m. Click HERE for details about AutismEdmond. This groups needs volunteers to:

  • Mentor in college social group
  • Assist with Childcare
  • Greeter

 

AutismGuthrie: Meets in Guthrie on the third Tuesday of each month. Volunteers needed from 6:00 p.m. – 8 p.m. Click HERE for details about AutismGuthrie. This groups needs volunteers to:

AutismOKC: Meets in Downtown OKC on the fourth Thursday of each month. Volunteers needed from 6:00 p.m. – 8 p.m. Click HERE for details about AutismOKC. This groups needs volunteers to:

  • Mentor for teen social group
  • Assist in childcare area

AutismNorman: Meets in Norman on the second Monday of the each month. Volunteers are needed from 6:00 p.m. – 8 p.m. Click HERE for details about AutismNorman. This group needs volunteers to:

Committee or Special Interest Group Volunteers: Great options for need the flexibility of opportunities that work with YOUR schedule! These opportunities are set according to program schedules or volunteer’s availability!

  • PieceWalk Committee Volunteer  – helps plan the largest autism event in OK! Most work is done from home, with staff available for support.
  • Art or Animal Program/Camp Volunteer– camps and programs that take place throughout the year. Times, days and locations vary.
  • Film Volunteer  – Mentor, Videographer, Editor, Animator to assist our Invisible Layers Productions program. (See calendar for times.)
  • Office Volunteer – helps make calls & other administrative-type tasks. Most work is done from home, with staff available for support.
  • Strong Volunteer – helps with moving and set-up.
  • Photography Volunteer – capture events and activities.
  • Hospitality Team/Event Volunteer – help at special events when needed. Includes assisting with set-up, clean-up and serving refreshments.
  • Writers Club Volunteer – offers a special kind of support as parent’s share their stories. Volunteers help cheer writers on and edit when needed.
  •  Event planning/Support Volunteer – helps plan special events that help raise friends, fun and funds.
